Full Day Throwing Experience

Your Day The day begins with a warm welcome, tea, coffee and biscuits, followed by a tour of our fully equipped studio. The morning session features a detailed demonstration of wheel-throwing techniques, including clay preparation (wedging), centering, and pulling forms. You’ll then get hands-on experience at the wheel, learning how to shape your first cylinders and bowls under expert instruction. After a delicious home-cooked lunch, served in the gallery space, the afternoon continues with a deeper dive into refining your technique. You’ll explore shaping forms, mastering the art of lifting, and adding finishing touches to your thrown pieces. Afternoon refreshments provide a short pause before you return to the wheel for your final creations. As the day concludes, we’ll review all your work, and you’ll select one or two pieces to be glazed in your chosen finish from our house glazes. We’ll fire these for you, ready for collection or delivery (postage fees apply). With all tools, materials, refreshments, and expert guidance included, this full-day experience is the perfect opportunity to develop your throwing skills and create lasting memories—and pottery, whether for you or as a gift for the creative person in your life.
