Full Day Hand-Building Experience

Your Day Your day begins with a warm welcome over tea, coffee and biscuits, followed by an introduction to the studio and materials. The morning is spent diving into hand-building techniques such as slab building, coiling, and pinching. You’ll learn how to craft beautiful and functional forms like bowls, mugs, or sculptural vessels, experimenting with textures and decorating using slips and underglazes. At midday, a delicious home-cooked lunch gives you time to relax and soak in the creative atmosphere of the gallery. The afternoon session deepens your exploration of hand-building, offering time to refine your morning creations or try out new forms and surface design techniques. The day concludes with a group review of your work, during which you’ll select one or two pieces to be finished. These will be glazed in your choice of house finishes. You can collect your pieces once ready or arrange for postage (additional costs apply). With all tools, materials, expert guidance, and refreshments provided, this immersive experience is the perfect way to explore the artistic possibilities of clay and create lasting memories.
